The Honda Element, frequently seen around Denver really looks the part of a Colorado utility vehicle. Whether the Element appeals for shopping and running errands around town, or mountain excursions (or both), it’s a unique entrant in the lineup of available Honda models.
The Honda Element is one of the more recent models to become associated with the Honda brand. And in Denver, Colorado, the Honda Element is one of the more popular automobiles in the compact SUV category. First introduced in the United States in 2003, the Honda Element strikes a balance of utility, style and efficiency in an attractive all-around package. The 4-seat Element is designed to carry large (and possibly messy) loads. The floor is made of textured urethane that is easy to clean. The rear clamshell tailgate arrangement is large and the vehicle is tall, allowing large loads to be carried. The Honda Element has won it’s share of recognition too. The Element was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2003 and won MotorWeek’s 2003 “Driver’s Choice Award” for “Best Small Sport-Utility Vehicle”.
The Honda Element has some great safety features. From its Side-Impact door beams to Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor, the Element represents an evolving and comprehensive approach to safety. Standard on every Element, is a complement of advanced safety systems to keep drivers out of trouble and in command such as Vehicle Stability Assist. Vehicle Stability Assist helps sense oversteer or understeer in an emergency situation, and then adjusts brake pressure at each wheel and/or reduces engine power to help restore driver control and keep you on course.
Along with Side-Impact Door Beams and front and rear crush zones, the Element was built with a highly rigid Unit-Body Construction to lessen intrusion into the passenger cabin. This reinforced body structure is designed to target the highest safety ratings for occupant protection. It all adds up to impressive safety performance. For proof, look to the latest findings of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which recognized the Element as a ’2008 Top Safety Pick’.

When you see the distinctive form of a Honda Ridgeline around town in Denver, Colorado, the truck is unmistakeable. It’s hard to miss, even if initially noticed only peripherally. Once aware I often thereafter find myself following the Ridgeline along with my eyes as it continues — watching it progress down the street or highway. Somehow this stylishly functional truck is intriguing. In its class the Honda Ridgeline is considered a mid-size vehicle, though it packs a lot of punch.
The awards for the Honda Ridgeline have stacked up in just a brief period of time since its introduction. See the list below for starters:
- Motor Trend truck of the year 2006
- North American Truck of the year 2006
- Detroit News truck of the year 2006

It’s a pretty darned good list we think. Maybe there’s something to this truck. Interested Denver and Colorado Front Range area customers are invited to contact Mile High Honda for more information or to test drive a Honda Ridgeline.
It seems like we’re starting to see more and more Honda Fits on the streets and highways around Denver and the Colorado Rocky Mountain Front Range. For sure there aren’t nearly as many Honda Fits around as there are other Hondas models like the Civic or Accord, but since its North American introduction in 2006 the Honda Fit is starting to pop up more frequently.
If you’re not that familiar with the Honda Fit, a little background information might first be helpful. It’s a five-door hatchback car that was introduced in June of 2001. The Fit went on sale in the United States and Canada in April of 2006 as a 2007 model year vehicle. Essentially it replaced the Civic hatchback for North America. As such the Honda Fit takes over for the Civic as Honda’s chief entry-level subcompact.
The Honda Fit has won numerous awards including ‘Best Economy Car for 2008′ from US News & World Report. Cars.com also deemed the Honda Fit as one of its ‘Top 10 Urban Vehicles’ for 2008.
In keeping with Honda’s safety initiative, the Fit is offered in North America with standard side airbags, side-curtain airbags, and ABS, in addition to the mandatory front airbags. For the 2008 Model, US models come with a government mandated Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to alert the driver of low pressure in any of the 4 stock wheels.
In its class the Honda Fit is a car to be reckoned with. The Honda Fit is available at Mile High Honda in Denver and we encourage you to come in and take a look. Naturally we carry the full line of other Honda models too.
Now with the price of gasoline over $3 per gallon people are getting worried! However, it seems to me that some people may be worried about the wrong things. In my opinion what people should think about when they get into their cars and put their seat belts on is “will this car protect me and my family in case of an accident, and does my car offer advanced safety features to help save my life and limbs?”
Unfortunately unsafe new cars are somehow still able to find their way to the marketplace. These have the potential to destroy the lives and futures of many people. Then there’s also the vast flood of older unsafe cars still on the road today. Thank goodness times are changing and cars in general are getting safer every year.
Do you know that some cars are twenty times more dangerous than others! Do you know that 10s of thousands of people die each year due to automobile accidents (see http://www.informedforlife.org/)! I think people should look a little harder to find a safe car. I know the perfect ‘bubble car’ is not available yet, but why on earth would anyone buy a new car without at least some great safety features?
American Honda and Acura Corporation go to great lengths to insure your safety. Crash test ratings are now included on the window sticker. Please feel free to give me a call so we can talk about some of the latest safety features of a new Acura or Honda product. If you are thinking of a safe new, or pre-owned car, give me a call. I can help! I do care about You! This information could help save the life of yourself, or a friend. Please feel free to pass it on to the ones you care about!

The Honda Pilot, whether the 2008 version or the upcoming 2009 model, has been and is expected to be a favorite on the streets and highways of Denver and throughout the Colorado Rocky Mountain region.
The Pilot was originally designed to fill the sizeable US demand for SUVs. Prior to the introduction of the Pilot, Honda had only the somewhat smaller CR-V, and the Passport. In comparison to the CR-V, the Honda Pilot offers increased overall size, passenger space, and towing capacity. The Pilot has been a best-seller for Honda.
The Honda Pilot is capable of transporting up to eight passengers. The third row seats 3, allowing additional seating of adults and children. Similar to the Honda Odyssey, the rear seats are designed to fold into completely flat surfaces to allow larger cargo inside if necessary. Seats are configured as stadium seating. Optional amenities that can also be included are a powered moonroof, DVD entertainment system, a navigation system, and much more.
As much a solid endorsement for the 2008 Honda Pilot as anything is its continued development and evolution for 2009. Available in the spring, the newest Honda Pilot is featured in the video below. The video’s about five minutes long … so maybe relax for a few minutes and take a look.
The Honda CR-V is yet another of the Honda models that sees its share of action on Denver area roads and highways. We think the new 2008 version will add to its local visibility, and with some interesting and attractive new styling and functionality.
Borrowing a line or two from the folks at Honda, “Life’s full of irresistible enticements. And we’re proud to offer yet another – the 2008 Honda CR-V.” Continuing on listed CR-V highlights include:

We like including video links on our blog since automobiles are of course so much more than just words alone. If you’ve got five minutes, check out the independent Kelley Blue Book review of the new 2008 Honda CR-V. Keep in mind the video is not a Honda production so you’ll see references to some of our competition, though the Kelley Blue Book people seem to think the CR-V is a smart choice.
